PE

At Wolvercote Primary School, we love our sport! In 2015-2016 we have enjoyed expert coaching in Athletics, Swimming,  Hockey, Rugby, Dance and Multi-skills, as well as class teaching. We run a range of clubs, including football, netball and climbing (to start shortly) on our own climbing boulder.

We were extremely grateful to St Edward's School for permission to hold our Sports Days on one of their pitches and indoors at their Sports Centre in July 2016.

We visit Oxford Hawks Hockey Club each December  for a school tournament led by our hockey coach Lorna. We have developed our hockey skills over the past two years, taking part in a range of matches against local primary schools and independent schools.

For the previous academic year, we received just over £9000 as PE premium grant from the Department for Education. You can read how we spent this in more detail here.

In 2016-2017 we have plans about how to enhance the children's experience of PE and sporting skills. You can read how we plan to spend the PE premium grant for this academic year in more detail here.

The PTA raised £2000 towards Rio Olympic activities in Summer 2016, where all children in the school had opportunities to try a range of Olympic sports, as well as experience Brazilian-themed activities.
